RESUMEN
Introdução: o aleitamento materno exclusivo é a melhor fonte de alimentação e proteção do bebê até o sexto de mês de vida, não necessitando de nenhum outro tipo de alimento ou líquido. Objetivo: identificar os fatores que interferem na prática do aleitamento materno e analisar os motivos que levam ao desmane precoce. Método: trata-se de um artigo de revisão integrativa da literatura mediante os descritores: aleitamento materno, lactente e desmame precoce, com um recorte temporal de 2012 a 2016. Resultados: entre os fatores que dificultam a prática do aleitamento materno destacam-se: leite fraco/insuficiente, pouco incentivo dos profissionais de saúde para a prática de aleitamento materno exclusivo, falta de conhecimento da mãe sobre a importância do aleitamento materno. Já entre os fatores causadores do desmame precoce, destacam-se: uso de chupeta, volta ao trabalho ou ao estudo, trauma mamilar e dor, baixo nível de escolaridade da genitora, e o aumento da idade da criança. Considerações finais: faz-se necessário o fomento da prática do aleitamento materno, a fim de promover resultados que possam contribuir para a prevenção de agravos e a promoção de saúde do binômio mãe e filho.
Introduction: exclusive breastfeeding is the best source of feeding and protection for the baby until the sixth month of life, requiring no other type of food or liquid. Objective: to identify the factors that interfere in the practice of breastfeeding and to analyze the reasons that lead to early dementia. Method: this article is an integrative review of the literature using the descriptors: breastfeeding, breastfeeding and early weaning, with a temporal cut from 2012 to 2016. Results: among the factors that impede the practice of breastfeeding, the following stand out: weak / insufficient milk, little incentive for health professionals to practice exclusive breastfeeding, lack of knowledge of the mother about the importance of breastfeeding. Among the factors that cause early weaning are: pacifier use, return to work or study, nipple trauma and pain, low level of schooling of the mother, and increased age of the child. Final Considerations: it is necessary to promote the practice of breastfeeding in order to promote results that may contribute to the prevention of diseases and the promotion of health of the mother and child binomial.
